Learning Technology Manager

Primary purpose of the Learning Technology Manager is to ensure GSK is at the forefront of current industry standards in Learning Technology solutions by researching, evaluating and selecting tools and services in support of the TL&OD ambition:

The Learning Technology team is part of the TL&OD Operations function, is global and works across GSK business units to drive and influence the implementation of enterprise wide Learning Technology solutions, standardised approaches and improvements from both a business and an employee experience perspective.

The Learning Technology Manager will lead and manage a variety of medium to large scale projects in the learning technologies team using our SAP SuccessFactors and SAP JAM platforms and other GSK approved learning technologies. They will be a specialist in social learning platforms and have deep technical knowledge of SAP JAM.

The role holder will provide governance, standards, models, education and consulting to support business design and delivery of a variety of enterprise wide strategic solutions in the learning technologies space; in particular, our new ‘Keep Growing Campus’, and in doing so, bring more consistency, quality and efficiency across the organisation whilst improving the learner experience

Our projects run using Agile Methodology and the Learning Tech manager will have experience of operating in this way and be able to use a variety of collaboration tools.

The Learning Technology Manger will participate in and contribute to the overall team success by demonstrating our values of Courage, Accountability, Teamwork and Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as a technical expert, SME in Social Learning Platforms (specifically SAP JAM) and consultant for specific programmes of work that require learning technology as a key enabler for delivery.
  • Partner with the business and key stakeholders to clarify business requirements and align these where possible to standard solutions and processes
  • Manage the implementation of new technology/software in partnership with Tech to ensure consistent deployment and uptake throughout GSK.Manage proof of concept, pilots, testing and define expected benefits to GSK through adoption of new technologies.Define global standards and process and ensure these are fully embedded as part of project implementations.
  • Provide input to and support the delivery of the long-term strategy for the SAP SuccessFactors and SAP JAM as GSK’s global learning platform i.e. ongoing enhancements and improvements to functionality
  • Work in partnership with the GSF Tech and Business stakeholder to ensure VoC is consistently highlighted and appropriate actions implemented. To include; Monitoring Help Desk tickets, identifying common themes, conducting RCA and implementing suitable resolutions and Leading VoC initiatives as required i.e. user surveys, focus groups, interviews.
  • Work in partnership with other key groups within the Talent, Learning and Organisation Development function (TL&OD) as well as more broadly to effectively deliver on agreed programmes of work.Understanding and creating technology-based touch points and connections across the wider Learning Operations team, Business Learning Leaders, GSF Tech etc.
  • Interface as required with key external vendors to support agreed programmes of work, ensuring effective relationships are established and suppliers deliver cost effective and high-quality services to GSK.
  • Research and investigate best practice use of learning technologies across external organisations and identify opportunities to incorporate learning’s into GSK’s current and future use of the technology.
  • Lead or participate in other TL&OD project work as required to support changing business requirements and resourcing requirements.

Knowledge Skills and Expertise

Technical Solutions Development (to include but not exclusive to the following list)

  • Large scale deployment of SAP SuccessFactors Learning, SAP JAM and Facebook Workplace
  • SF and JAM implementation & admin setup & best practice
  • Creation of custom widgets in JAM
  • Integration of Web Conferencing tools (WebEx, Adobe Connect)
  • Knowledge of Workday would be advantageous
  • Reporting and Analytics Tool usage (JAM analytics and PowerBI)
  • Strong Excel capabilities
  • Mobile capabilities
  • Process design

Design Thinking and UX \ LX Design

Agile Project Management

Change Management for business adoption of new technologies

Consulting, Stakeholder engagement and transition of business requirement to technology solutions

Experience of working with external vendors and strategic partners

Problem Solving and Flexible thinking

Being aware and curious of future learning Technology trends for example; adaptive and predictive learning platform, learning in the flow of work technologies, AI/ ML and Bot tech

Knowledge of Healthcare sector – Pharma, Vaccines and Consumer OTC and Oral Health
